Lightning Diverter Kit
Lightning protection - the lightning is diverted through the ground before it can reach the energiser!
The PATURA Lightning Diverter Kit prevents the energiser against lightning damages. The coil is connected at one end to the fence and at the other end to the energiser. If the lightning now strikes the fence, it is slowed down at the coil (choke) and then discharged into the ground through the porcelain spark gap. The lightning protection earthing system must be located at least 10 metres from the earthing of the energiser. However, if a building lightning protection system is present, the earthing wire of the lightning protection system must be connected to the earthing of the lightning protection system.

Regulation according to VDE:
Energisers used to supply electric fence systems in pasture must not be located in fire hazard areas such as barns, threshing floors, and stables. To prevent lightning damage, a lightning protection device (spark gap with earthing) must be installed in the fence supply line before it is introduced into a building (not a fire hazard). The lightning is slowed down at a choke (coil) and discharged into the ground via a spark gap.
